ASAP/10 Conference

ASAP: The Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present is an international, nonprofit association dedicated to discovering and articulating the aesthetic, cultural, ethical, and political identities of the contemporary arts. The conference is being organized in collaboration with Pelican Bomb, and New Orleans Center for the Gulf South.
 
A few PARSE NOLA highlights will be: 
 
Kevin Jerome Everson will be speaking on a panel on Ground and Figure: Place, Race, and Structures of Habitation. Everson's work is currently on view at The Engine Room Art + Projects until October 26th.  
 
Casey Ruble will be speaking about her current film project on the story of Eulalie: A Case Study of America’s Identity Formation, on a panel on Cultural Constructions. 
 
Emily Wilkerson, independent curator and writer and PARSE NOLA's Board Secretary, will be speaking on a panel on Difference and Defiance, an artist roundtable. 
 
All three of these panel discussions will take place on Friday, October 19, beginning at 10:15am.
